Second art major :) one of my best paintings according to a lot of people who saw it so I hope you'll like it too even though it's not an equine... and yes, this time the pegasus one is coming in a few days !

So basically, this is my all-time favourite hand pose, I keep doing that with my hands even unconsciously because I just love to look at the beautiful lines it makes. I knew I would draw/paint something with it someday, and an art major is a good occasion  I rendered it in my favourite colour as well so that it would be a generally good piece - and it worked, didn't it ? This is also a reminder that I do art for the sake of beauty, and not for it to convey any particular meanning or 'message' as the teacher loves so much. So I invented this whole thing about the loving divine hand reaching for the depressed mortal and I got a good grade. Sad, heh ?

Anyway, I took the picture from my art PowerPoint presentation, and though usually I prefer to take pictures of my art myself, this time I had to bow to the crushing superiority of her camera and I used hers T.T no one dare tell me that it's the most detailed shot you ever had !

Dimensions : 40x30cm
Time taken : ~5h

STATUS :
Pending... should I sell it ? Shouldn't I ?

It's a very comforting piece. Serene (just like the title) and peaceful. I like it! The colors are perfect, and the pose is neat! Sometimes I do that with my hands, too. Usually out of boredom, though. I'll never think about it the same way, though! =)

The shading/blending/highlighting all looks so nice. And even though you randomly made up your description for it, I like it. Maybe not just comfort from a "divine" being to a depressed mortal, but just comfort, love, and closeness in a general manner. You know, between friends, aquaintences (a smile to someone who looks down), angels, or from God.

An amazing job on this. If I were you, I wouldn't ever sell it. I know you say you do art for beauty, but I think that this does mean something to you. ^^ Especially since you've always wanted to draw this pose for something. :+fav:

I'm not being sarcastic! I'm being Optimistically Pessimistic! Putting a positive spin on a negative thought!
I wish my lawn were emo, so it would cut itself.

well yes, it is a very personnal piece, completely calls to me with the blue and the friendship... but that's why art is beautiful right ? because of the diret feeling you get from it ^^ I'm probably not going to sell it unless I get a really high offer, dunnow, maybe not, ARGH :cries: I know ! I won't sell it under 300 000€ ! :evillaugh: mouahahaha - that's the price German players will get each if they qualify for the Swoccer World Cup :D

Ahem. I like how you say it's just general reassurance and universal love, you've probably put down my feelings in words ^^
